Coaching and Coaching Psychology
Siobhain O’Riordan PhD has worked with individuals and groups across and within a variety of industry sectors and professions including Advertising and Media, Healthcare, Public Sector/Local Government, Professional Services, Education, the Third Sector and Information Technology.
Key areas of coaching work include leadership, performance, executive, stress management, resilience, managing transition, health and wellbeing. Siobhain draws on a range of evidence-based approaches in her work including Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC), Solution Focused Coaching (SFC), Positive Psychology Interventions (PPI), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Ecopsychology and Developmental Coaching.

Coaching and Coaching Psychology Supervision
Siobhain is a busy supervisor and enjoys supporting the work of coaches and psychologists working as independent practitioners or within organisational settings. She works with coaches who are newer to the field as well as more experienced practitioners in either a 1:1 or group setting.

Background

Siobhain is a chartered psychologist and chartered coaching psychologist, a chartered scientist, founder chair and a fellow of the International Society for Coaching Psychology (ISCP). She is a certified principal business psychologist of the Association for Business Psychology, a fellow of the International Stress Management Association UK, an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a member of the Association for Coaching and an honorary member of the Institute of Health Promotion and Education. She is an ISCP Accredited Supervisor and listed on the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors. Siobhain is also an experienced trainer, examiner, and supervisor on graduate/postgraduate coaching and coaching psychology programmes. She is a course co-director/trainer on the coaching and coaching psychology programmes at the Centre for Coaching and Centre for Stress Management (UK).

Some Key Activities
Siobhain is Co-Editor of the book an Introduction to Coaching Psychology (alongside Prof Stephen Palmer), published by Routledge in 2021.

She has also written articles and chapters relating to coaching psychology, coaching and positive psychology over the years (see the News & Resources section of the website) and talks at national and international conferences .
She is an Honorary Research Fellow of the Wales Academy for Professional Practice and Applied Research (WAPPAR) at University of Wales Trinity Saint David. She is currently an editor of Coaching Psychology International and the International Journal of Coaching Psychology. Siobhain is a co-editor of the European Journal of Applied Positive Psychology and the International Journal of Stress Prevention and Wellbeing. Siobhain is also a past editor of the publications The Coaching Psychologist and the International Journal of Health Promotion and Education.

In 2010 she received the Distinguished Contribution to Coaching Psychology Award (British Psychological Society Special Group in Coaching Psychology). In 2021, Siobhain was awarded a lifetime achievement award for contributions to coaching psychology by Coaching at Work.
